Bastian
Schweinsteiger has reportedly agreed to join Manchester United in a spectacular
summer transfer.
The
midfielder’s future at Bayern Munich has been in doubt as Pep Guardiola looks
to revamp his squad with younger talent.
And
it appears that Louis van Gaal has now convinced his former charge that his
future lies at Old Trafford.
According
to Bild, the 30-year-old has
accepted a contract worth £7.2million over three years, which will make him the
first German to play for United.
A
fee is yet to be agreed between the two clubs, with United thought to be
unwilling to meet Bayern’s reported £14m asking price.
Schweinsteiger
is understood to have informed Bayern of his desire to leave though, with the
Bundesliga side likely to grant his wishes as reward for his 17 years of
service.
